Horai Silent Watch
Problem
Vibration alarms are a popular product for many use cases, including parents who are giving the devices to young children, hard of hearing persons who cannot hear traditional alarms, and those who cannot have sounded alarms in their places of work among others. Of the devices currently on the market, most dedicated vibration alarms rely on manual setup with no smart device connectivity. This often leads to complaints that the devices are difficult to set up, or overly complex when worn.
There are currently 310 products on Amazon listed as a ‘silent vibration alarm’, with the majority of said alarms designed for the wearer’s wrist. Of these alarms, the top two products (an original and a knockoff of said original) have a total of 4,692 reviews and an average rating of 3.8 stars, with the top negative reviews mentioning difficulty setting up the device.
Opportunity
Horai has the opportunity to improve upon devices currently available in the marketplace in the low to medium cost category by creating a wearable that comes with an integrated application for easier setup.
The application and wrist device include the ability to:
Set silent alarms, timers, and reminders
Set alarm specific vibration patterns and LED light colors
Set alarms by times or by number of hours between alarms
Adjust application between light and dark mode
